I've had a sore throat for two weeks.. despite all my husbands suggestions of how to make it better, today after waking up for the fifth day feeling like I'm in the Seychelles with no air con I've taken the brave step to visit the gp..

Now I know my body. I know that I'm infected.. that my body is informing me that there are tiny cute little germs floating about, deliberately targeting the parts of me I need to be able to function.. BUT I am full of dread at the doctors verdict of making me wait for antibiotics. I'm not like many friends and I don't stockpile antibiotics "just in case" as I genuinely believe that our bodies need to learn to heal themselves but I'm not lying when I say the hot flushes of the bloody menopause combined with the hot flushes of an infection are slowly and beautifully doing my head in. To top it all my knee decided to lock last night in bed so there I was, hot, sweating, like a beached wale that was dehydrated and slowly melting stuck on my mattress like a starfish (yeh I know whales and starfishes are different but if you combine the two you should get a decent image).

Today I shakily rang the doctor at 9am and apologized for not ringing at 8am, hallelujah they have face to face appointments! I didn't even know that was a thing.... so I'm now preparing myself to see a doctor who will undoubtedly tell me to wait another 10 days to see if it will go on its own even though I've already waited two weeks.

Anyone got

any home remedy's.. I'm willing to try any concoction.. nettles, weeds (got plenty of them because I've been to unwell to do any gardening), if not I'll continue squirting that vile concoction the chemist gave me down my throat for the foreseeable future.

If all else fails there is non conducive with slimming world ice cream, which is not what I bloody need when I'm going back for a weigh in next week.

Happy Friday.
